Sankaracharya's Arrest

The secularati in India as usual are gloating with yet another assault on India's ancient institute of learning and dharma. Its a shame. The assault on Hindus continues. With the BJP's losses the, that purveyor of Marxist half-truths and anti-Hindu rag from the south, The Hindu (yipe its called that !!!) has published of essays from fellow travelers. Couldn't resist the temptation to dash of missive to the gloating Marxists : here it goes.....

Dear Editor :

I am amused by the great secularist churning that seems to be on, accompanied by a large number of 'intellectually stimulating' essays promising the future demise of BJP and RSS. All because a party lost an election ? Really ?

Let it be said, before all those who are dancing, in dreams of a great secularist renaissance : the fat lady ain't singing yet !

Today, whether the secularists accept it or not, the idiom of political discourse in India is set by the ideas of Hindutva imbibed in the last decade, neither can it be erased nor purged, it exists. Abusing those who profess Hindutva neither does justice to intellectual discourse nor enlightens the uninitiated.

The only hope secularists have for their sustenance is to embrace new ideas, even those that fall within the realm of Hindutva.

Read the brilliant essay by S.Gurumurthy, a very bright charterd accountant, convener of the Swadeshi Jagran Manch on Sankaracharya's arrest : http://www.newindpress.com/Newsitems.asp?ID=IEH20041121122432&Title=Top+Stories&Topic=337&
